Self proclaimed President of comedy Africa Eric Omondi on Friday, December 30, 2022 spoke for the first time and gave his response to the saga surrounding the circumstances which led to Stivo Simple Boy’s exclusion from performing at Ruger’s concert in Mombasa on the 28th of December.
In a series of instagram posts, the Comedian gave his side of the story and stated that it was not right for Stivo Simple boy not to have been paid as he had already spoken with the organisers beforehand and they had agreed to pay all performers in advance.
He also went ahead and asked Stivo Simple Boy’s managers to resign with immediate effect failure to which he would have them arrested. He further accused them of having eaten food worth Ksh 84,000.
Eric Omondi also questioned why Stivo Simple Boy would have four managers at the event. He claimed that Stivo’s managers only informed him of the situation backstage when it was already too late.
“Stivo Simple Boy’s management must resign immediately or I will have them arrested. How do you bring an artist all the way from Nairobi na hata hajalipwa hata shilingi moja. Kwani kazi yako kama manager ni nini?”
“Halafu you only informed me of this at the backstage last minute. Halafu mnakula food worth 84,000 and drinks na Stivo hajalipwa, na mnampandisha basi. Halafu why does Stivo have 4 managers?”
“Mimi I did my part, I spoke to Ruger and Simple boy’s people and they were to be paid and infact everybody was paid. Including Ruger, Ndovu Kuu, Kusa and all the DJ’s. All along I knew Stivo had been paid only for him to tell me hajalipwa.”
Simple Boy’s management MIB reassured all of his followers that they are trying to guarantee that the situation does not occur again in a message released on Simple Boy’s Facebook.
“MIB management takes this initiative to publicly apologize to Stevo Simple Boy’s fans who showed up for the event that was dubbed Sofire Fiesta.”
“Stevo Simple Boy could not perform yesterday night as earlier agreed because Sofire ENT refused to honor the agreement by paying the Artist before he went on stage. For this reason we did not see the need of having our artist on stage just to fulfill the organizers selfish needs.”
“We really apologize and are working day in day out to ensure that this doesn’t happen again. Thank you for your continued support.”
