Happiness is an inside job; it has to come from within, not from your partner, career, or other external factors. If you’re unhappy from within, regardless of how extraordinary your life, partner, or job is, it is up to you to figure out why and make some changes in your life so you can be happy.
Happiness is found all around you and in all the things you do, no matter how small or big. It could be small achievements like finishing that long-overdue course or finding the prettiest butterfly on your morning walk.

Happy Mind, Happy Life
I’m sure you’ve heard this expression before, right? Happy mind, happy life?
A lot of what we do, good or bad, happy or sad, stems from the decisions we’ve made. We are in control of our lives, or at least we should be, and if you’re not, you need to fix that. It’s up to us to choose things that make us feel good.
Unfortunately, not many of us do that all the time. Sometimes, we choose things that are not good for us (and we know they aren’t good for us because our gut feelings kick in, and you all know what they feel like!) and end up completely miserable or unhappy.
Training yourself to listen to your intuition and rewire your brain to only allow happy good for you thoughts and decisions takes some work, and it doesn’t come easy, but it’s so worth it.
This brings us to the keys to a happy life that I’m gonna share now.
7 Ways to Live a Happy Life
So we’ve already determined that in order to live a happy life, some changes need to be made. We’ve also determined change isn’t easy, but it’s not impossible either. The question isn’t “can I do it?” it’s “how bad do I want to do it?”. So the bottom line really is, how badly do you want to live a happier life?

A change in attitude will determine how high you can soar. Get comfortable in your skin. As long as you compare yourself with others, you will not become the original version of yourself – which is vital for happy living.

To become a strong and independent woman, you need to be the best version of yourself first, then the rest will follow.
Drop a Bad Habit
Bad habits include addiction, procrastination, anger outbursts, rudeness, and arrogance, among others.
It takes great effort, self-will and discipline to break a bad habit, making baby steps a sustainable option. Whatever you do, keep moving as there’s progress in motion, no matter how slow.
Evaluate the total damage these habits cause and decide to take baby steps toward change. The alternative could leave you wondering what could have been.
Walk Away From Negativity
If there is a concept this generation should learn, it’s this one – learn to walk away from life drainers, whether people, places, or activities.
Prioritize your feelings because you cannot always be giving and never receiving. This isn’t selfishness but rather self-care.
Walk away from that toxic relationship, marriage, job environment, or fake friends, and start your journey towards a fulfilling life.
Change Your Diet
To reach your weight loss, self-care goals, or well-being, start with a clean, healthy eating regime. Also, incorporate a detox plan semi-annually.
Did you also know that our weight and physical health plays a huge role in our emotional well being? Yup sure does. Changing your diet is so important to not only living a healthy life physically but will lead you to live a happy life emotionally too.
Poor physical health can lead to an increased risk of developing mental health problems. Similarly, poor mental health can negatively impact on physical health, leading to an increased risk of some conditions.

Exercise Regularly
A routine exercise combined with a good diet will have you looking like a goddess with time. So, find the right mix of activities and start slowly.
Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on depression, anxiety, and ADHD. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts your overall mood. It’s no wonder people tell you to go for a walk, run or hike when you’re stressed or angry because it helps clear your head, calm you down and so much more!
Whether you take 30 minutes a day every day or 3 times a week, exercise will undoubtedly lead you to live a happy life.
Clean Up Your Act

Cleanliness reflects your entire personality and individuality. You do not have to clean up for anyone but rather for yourself to maintain a positive environment.
Go to the spa, get that long-overdue massage, get a facial, put on makeup and jewelry, wear clothes that fit nicely, and splash on some perfume.
Even just doing some of these little things (hello, mini mani/pedi) can make a world of difference. There’s no doubt that when we do little things for ourselves, and by the way, that’s called self-care, and it’s necessary, not selfish, it truly does make us feel like a million bucks, not to mention that it’s key to live a happy life.
Practice Gratitude

Gratitude for the win, all day, every day. The more gratitude you express, the more things that will show up in your life to be grateful for. The best way to live a happy life is to be grateful for all the things you have now.
The minute you open your eyes in the morning, you should be saying thank you and then, throughout the day, say thank you over and over again. For everything you have. You are more blessed than you think.
Did you know that gratitude is a magnet for miracles? Watch and see.
Conclusion
Remember, it’s up to you to decide that you are tired of the life you are now living and you want to live a happy life. You must make the decision to change!! No one can do that for you. No one has the keys to a happy life except you. You are in control and in charge of your life, your happiness, your success, your everything.
So, with that said, how badly do you want to be happy?
