Former President Donald Trump issued a warning in a new campaign video, accusing the Department of Justice of “coming after” the American people.
The clip, posted on Trump’s Truth Social platform, references the multiple indictments the presumptive Republican presidential nominee faces across four criminal trials, with the former president saying: “I never thought anything like this could happen in America.”

Responding to the indictments and lawsuits, Trump’s video includes excerpts from numerous speeches he has made over the years, in which he says: “They want to take away my freedom because I will never let them take away your freedom. They want to silence me because I will never let them silence you. They are not coming after me, they are coming after you and I just happen to be standing in their way and I will never be moving.
“The only crime that I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it.
“The more that a broken system tells you that you are wrong, the more certain you should be that you should keep pushing ahead.

“On November 5, 2024, justice will be done, we will take back our country and we will make America great again. America will always rise to every challenge and overcome every danger. When I am re-elected I will totally obliterate the deep state. As long as we have pride in our beliefs, courage in our convictions and faith in our God, then we will not fail.”
The video includes an audio clip of Bill Barr, the U.S. attorney general under Trump, telling Fox News last year that the Trump’s indictments were “the epitome of the abuse of the prosecutorial power.”

Trump is subject to four criminal indictments—two relating to alleged efforts to overturn the result of the 2020 election, one accusing him of retaining classified documents after leaving office, and one regarding a hush money payment to the adult film star Stormy Daniels.
On May 30, Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to concealment of a $130,000 hush money payment made to Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said the payment was meant to prevent Daniels from speaking publicly about an affair she said she had with the former president. Trump’s sentencing is scheduled for July 11.
Trump, who denied the affair and any wrongdoing, said the case was politically motivated, and his lawyers have said they are appealing the verdict.

In Georgia, Trump and his co-defendants are accused of attempting to overturn the 2020 election results in which Trump lost the state by less than 12,000 votes. However, an appeals court has indefinitely paused the case pending a ruling on the defendants’ efforts to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
The order on Wednesday by the Georgia Court of Appeals was issued after Trump and eight of his 14 co-defendants challenged a ruling by Judge Scott McAfee that allowed Willis to remain on the case despite having a romantic relationship with one of her special prosecutors, Nathan Wade.
The order likely means the case will not reach trial before the election in November. A three-judge appeals panel is tentatively scheduled to hear oral arguments on the motion to disqualify Willis in October.

Meanwhile, Trump is facing 40 federal charges over his handling of sensitive materials retrieved from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, after leaving the White House in January 2021. He is accused of obstructing efforts by federal authorities to return them. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
He is also facing a federal election subversion case in Washington, D.C., but it is on hold pending the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on the former president’s claim that presidential immunity absolves him of all actions taken during his time in office.
Trump has repeatedly branded the cases against him as a “witch hunt” and election interference. Writing on Truth Social this week, Trump said: “Large scale mounting evidence that all of the unprecedented number of lawsuits brought against me, the Witch Hunt, are conceived of, and coordinated by, the White House and the DOJ. Such a disgrace. All done to illegally help Crooked Joe Biden fight his Political Opponent, ME!”
