Get Out

Jordan Peele’s hit movie feature Get Out, premiered in theaters on Feb. 24, 2017, nearly seven years ago. Get Out became an instant hit and continues to be one of the best horror movies of our time. I’ll be the first to admit that I was a bit skeptical. At the time, Jordan Peele was best known for his work with friend Keegan-Michael Key. The duo, known as Key and Peele, collaborated on various comedy skits, shows, and movies. So fans were very surprised to learn that Peele was going to branch out to the world of horror. Little did fans know, Get Out would become an all-time favorite.

Get Out stars Daniel Kaluuya and Allison Williams and follows Rose Armitage (Williams) bringing her boyfriend Chris Washington (Kaluuya) home to meet her family. There, Chris discovers shocking and disturbing secrets about the Williams family. Stream the movie today on Prime Video for free as part of your subscription.

Step Brothers

Not into horror? No problem! Watch Step Brothers, starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as two adult men still living with their parents. Brennan Huff (Ferrell) lives with his mother, Nancy (Mary Steenburgen), while Dale Doback (Reilly) lives with his father Dr. Robert Doback (Richard Jenkins). Brennan and Dale meet when their parents move in together, forcing the two step-siblings to get along. Needless to say, getting along is easier said than done for these men-children. Step Brothers is LOL-fun right away, but hilarity ensues when the two brothers become best friends.

Step Brother has a cult following and is one of the most popular comedies. It is known and loved for its absurd comedy, an easy to follow plot that is all about entertaining, and the chemistry between the cast. If you know Ferrell and Reilly, this was not their first collaboration. Two years prior to the release of Step Brothers, the actors starred in the comedyTalladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, another feature we recommend you watch if you enjoy Step Brothers.

Mission: Impossible

Seeking action thrills? Watch the movie that kicked off one of the most popular action franchises, Mission: Impossible. Today, there are seven movies in the Mission: Impossible movie series, with an eight movie set to premiere next year on May 23, 2025. The upcoming film does not yet have a title (we’ll update you as soon as it does).

Mission: Impossible premiered in theaters on May 22, 1996, and though Tom Cruise was already one of the most popular names in the business, this franchise certainly cemented Cruise as a household name. It’s clear that the actor gives it his all in any role he tackles, but is particularly great as the super spy agent Ethan Hunt.

A Knock at the Cabin

Switching things back to horror, M. Night Shyalaman’s A Knock at the Cabin is another must-watch if you love the mystery-horror genre. Now, I know that Shyalaman’s work is hit and miss, so go into this movie with low expectations. I enjoyed most of the movie, but, as usual, I was disappointed by the finale. Still, it’s a thrilling right that keeps audiences guessing.

The movie follows a family vacationing at a remote cabin in an attempt to unplug. They were not expecting any guests, so they are frightened and puzzled when four armed strangers show up on their front door. The strangers claim that an upcoming apocalypse will wipe out humanity unless the family makes a choice.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Next up, we have cult favorite Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, starring Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Both lead actors are household names who have gone on to star in amazing productions. Yet, their roles in the colorful feature Scott Pilgrim vs. the World remains a favorite! The movie also features other big names, including Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, and more. And since it premiered in the summer of 2010, it’s fun to take a trip back in time and see the stars when they were younger. But be warned, you’ll feel old, too!

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World follows Scott Pilgrim, a wannabe musician who is struggling to catch his big break. While trying to win a music competition to get a record deal, Scott must also fight his new girlfriend’s seven evil exes. The movie is directed by Edgar Wright and is based on the graphic novels of the same name by Bryan Lee O’Malley.
