  • iPhone 15 Plus costs $100 more. The 128GB model starts at $929 ($25.84 monthly), 256GB costs $1,029.99 ($28.62 monthly), and 512GB is $1,229.99 ($34.17 monthly). With the maximum trade-in credit, your monthly payment could be as low as $6.39 for the 128GB iPhone 15 Plus.

iPhone 15 deals at Verizon

Verizon offers up to $830 off the iPhone 15 to new and existing customers who add an Unlimited Ultimate line when trading in any iPhone model. To get the highest values, Verizon stipulates that your trade-in credit must be applied as a monthly bill credit over 36 months.

The carrier accepts any iPhone—even ancient releases like the iPhone 5. Of course, you shouldn’t expect to get close to the total value if you’re trading in something that old. The newer the phone, the more you’ll get. Your phone’s condition also factors into the final trade-in value.

Plus, you can trade in your old smartwatch and add an Apple Watch Series 9 or Apple Watch Ultra 2 with your purchase for just $6 per month or $14 per month, respectively. Lastly, you can save 25% on a MagSafe charger and 20% on select cases and screen protectors.

Both Apple and Best Buy allow you to trade devices in for credit that you can use toward an iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus. You won’t see increased trade values like you’ll find purchasing through carriers, but it’s worth seeing how much you can get for your previous phone (and, in Best Buy’s case, any piece of tech you have laying around) if you’d rather buy the iPhone 15 outright.

How do I get an iPhone 15  for free?

The only way you can walk away with a free iPhone 15 is to trade in qualifying devices at retailers for heightened promotional credits. While you can trade devices in at any time to get store credit, you can only tap into the abovementioned $830 trade values offered by carriers like AT&T and Verizon when trading in newer flagship smartphones in good condition toward an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max.

Some carriers stipulate that you must be on certain plans, too. Read the details of your preferred carrier’s offers carefully, and double-check your device’s estimated trade-in value before completing checkout.

If you’re not happy with the estimates you’re getting, consider selling your previous smartphone yourself at marketplaces like eBay or Amazon. You should be able to take home more money, which you can throw atop the heap of any cash payment you make.

What’s new on the iPhone 15?

The iPhone 15 represents Apple’s biggest year-to-year hardware upgrade over the past few years. Compared to last year’s, it adds an upgraded 48MP camera, Dynamic Island (formerly exclusive to the Pro lineup), and USB-C with USB 2.0 speeds for charging and data (you still get MagSafe wireless charging). It’s also a tad more curvaceous with a brighter screen, includes Roadside Assistance via satellite, and has an improved ultra-wideband chip for more accurate Find My features, among other minor improvements that you can read about in our rundown of everything you need to know about the iPhone 15.
