President Joe Biden is focusing on rallying regional cooperation against China on the sidelines of the Group of Seven summit while facing trouble in Washington over raising the federal debt limit. Biden began his third day in Japan at the annual meeting of the world’s most powerful democracies with a briefing while making efforts to avoid a scenario that will benefit Beijing. Biden was also involved in meetings challenging China’s buildout across the Indo-Pacific, including with the “Quad partnership” made up of the US, Australia, Japan and India.
