ELECTIONS 2022: Areas that voted for Leni Robredo

Opposition leader Vice President Leni Robredo, who drew hundreds of thousands of campaign volunteers and supporters from all over the country, is currently a far second from Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr’s 31 million votes, based on partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) as of 10:17 am on Friday (May 13).

Despite the dictator’s son Marcos Jr.’s overwhelming lead, a number of provinces remained loyal to Robredo.

These are the 15 provinces where voters chose Robredo as their president:

  1. Camarines Sur – 958,905 votes (89%)
  2. Iloilo – 728,781 votes (55%)
  3. Negros Occidental – 639,372 votes (42%)
  4. Quezon – 609,758 votes (52%)
  5. Albay – 608,779 votes (81%)
  6. Sorsogon – 333,614 votes (74%)
  7. Camarines Norte – 239,353 votes (74%)
  8. Capiz – 216,236 votes (50%)
  9. Masbate – 186,998 votes (43%)
  10. Northern Samar – 159,225 votes (47%)
  11. Antique – 142,663 votes (45%)
  12. Eastern Samar – 123,868 votes (45%)
  13. Catanduanes – 123,805 votes (75%)
  14. Guimaras – 66,071 votes (64%)
  15. Batanes – 5,195 votes (47%)

Meanwhile, Marcos won in 64 provinces, with vote-rich Cebu contributing 1,515,812 votes. Robredo got only 577,105 votes in the province.

The only provinces where neither Robredo or Marcos won were Lanao del Sur, where businessman Faisal Mangondato won, and Sarangani, where Senator Manny Pacquiao won.

Among the regions, Robredo only won in Bicol and Western Visayas. Marcos dominated the rest.

How the vote-rich cities voted

Marcos also led the race in Quezon City–the most vote-rich city–with 629,509 votes. He also dominated the other top 10 vote-rich cities in the country.

These are the number of votes Robredo got in the Top 10 vote-rich cities:

  1. Quezon City – 376,102 votes (27%)
  2. City of Manila – 196,179 votes (17%)
  3. City of Davao – 30,529 votes (3%)
  4. City of Cebu – 151,436 votes (21%)
  5. City of Caloocan – 153,205 votes (22%)
  6. City of Antipolo – 101,445 votes (22%)
  7. City of Makati – 130,743 votes (29%)
  8. City of Pasig – 141,041 votes (31%)
  9. City of Taguig – 95,502 votes (21%)
  10. City of Zamboanga – 54,332 votes (12%)
