Former President Barack Obama’s private advice to Joe Biden may help explain why the federal government is going after Donald Trump with multiple criminal indictments.
The truth is that Democrats are scared. According to The Washington Post, Obama warned Biden at a lunch meeting in the White House in late June about Trump’s soaring popularity as he seeks reelection.

Obama fears that Democrats are underestimating Trump and misunderstanding his status as a formidable political opponent.
Obama expressed his concerns about Trump’s “political strengths, including an intensely loyal following, a Trump-friendly conservative media ecosystem and a polarized country — underlining his worry that Trump could be a more formidable candidate than many Democrats realize.”
“President Biden is grateful for his unwavering support, and looks forward to once again campaigning side-by-side with President Obama to win in 2024 and finish the job for the American people,” the Biden campaign said. The Washington Post clarified that Obama isn’t concerned about Biden’s political prowess, but that Trump remains a strong presidential contender.

Trump sent a message to Americans ahead of his federal indictment. “I am now going to Washington, D.C., to be arrested for having challenged a corrupt, rigged, & stolen election,” Trump said. “It is a great honor, because I am being arrested for you. Make America Great Again!”
The simple message encapsulates how millions of Americans feel about their overblown and corrupt federal government.
In recent years, Americans have been stripped of their basic rights, such as free speech. People have been censored for expressing their opinion or asking questions about the 2020 election, Hunter Biden’s laptop, or the COVID-19 vaccine. It appears that Trump understands that these multiple criminal indictments reveal the fear of the Democrat Party with the looming 2024 election. “I NEED ONE MORE INDICTMENT TO ENSURE MY ELECTION!” Trump sarcastically wrote to social media as his popularity and campaign donations continue to skyrocket.

Critics say the Biden administration has tasked Special Counsel Jack Smith with the goal of taking down Trump and interfering in the 2024 presidential election. Smith is currently leading two investigations against Trump, including the classified documents case as well as the Jan. 6 case.
“This is the second federal indictment the former president faces out of Smith’s investigation,” Fox News confirmed. “This is the second time in U.S. history that a former president has faced federal criminal charges.”
Trump faces 4 counts in the case as Smith was investigating whether Trump interfered with the peaceful transfer of power following the 2020 presidential election. The criminal allegations include conspiracy to defraud the U.S. and conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding. On Jan. 6, 2021, Trump supporters entered the U.S. Capitol during a joint session of Congress to certify the Electoral College results in favor of Joe Biden.
If Trump wins the 2024 presidential election, he has vowed to fire Special Counsel Jack Smith who is leading the investigation into Trump’s alleged improper retention of classified records.

“The House of Representatives drafted articles of impeachment against him again and ultimately voted to impeach him on a charge of inciting an insurrection for the Jan. 6 Capitol riot — making him the first and only president in history to be impeached, and ultimately acquitted, twice,” the report added.
A Trump campaign spokesperson said, “This is nothing more than the latest corrupt chapter in the continued pathetic attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their weaponized Department of Justice to interfere with the 2024 Presidential Election, in which President Trump is the undisputed frontrunner, and leading by substantial margins.”
A poll released by the NY Times and Siena College on August 1, 2023 found that Biden and Trump were tied at 43 percent support among registered voters. Another poll, released by ABC News/Ipsos on July 27, 2023, found that Biden and Trump were also tied at 43 percent support.
